N1.650bn
released to DESOPADEC - DTSG
The attention of the Delta State
government has been drawn to another orchestrated rumour making the rounds that
the state government released the sum of N500 million to the Delta State Oil
Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) to pay contractors as well
as run its affairs .
The mischievous rumour, again, has
exposed the writers as ignorant, and wicked persons whose stock in trade is to
cause unnecessary disaffection aimed at destroying the peaceful atmosphere
existing in the state.
A statement issued by the Media
Assistant to the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Sam Ijeh, in Asaba on
Monday, July 31, 2017, noted that in the month of July, 2017, the sum of one
billion, six hundred and fifty million Naira was released to DESOPADEC.
The statement therefore urged
Deltans not to be distracted but continue to support the government of Senator
Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who is irrevocably committed to the overall development of
the state.
