The National Secretary General of the Urhobo Progress Union Youth Wing worldwide,Comrade Kelly Efemena Umukoro has urged all well meaning Urhobo sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to rally round and support Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for the Deputy Senate President position.
This development was contain in a communique issued at the end of a joint meeting between the Union and other youth Stakeholders of the region on their position in the aspiration of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for the Deputy Senate President, maintaining that, Omo-Agege as an Urhobo Senator has represented the good people of the Delta central loftily by championing the affairs of the Delta Central Senatorial District via his laudable and commendable projects.

while appealing to all Urhobos to reflect and consolidate on the development that the Senator has done in his first tenure, advised the self acclaim pressure group known as "Urhobo Political Group, UPG",to desist from abusing the sensibility of Urhobo people by endorsing our neighbor against our brother due to some personal gain, noting that this group exist only on pages of newspaper and do not have the constitutional power to Speak on behalf of the Urhobo people .

He advised the group to stop the disunity and all illegal activities that they are currently fueling against the senator and see the Urhobo interest above their own interest, The secretary maintains that UPU is the only recognised body to speak for the entire Urhobo Nation .
His words" I want to say that the so called Urhobo Political Group UPG only exist on the pages of the newspapers and can not speak for the Urhobo nation, I appeal to all Urhobo sons and daughters to support our son and leader, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for the Deputy Senate President of Nigeria ".
He added" Urhobos who are aggrieved should know that " when two brothers fight deadly over their inheritance a total stranger inherits their property, and I want to again urged the Urhobo nation to live and let's live together as one and be good ambassadors of the Urhobo nation".
Umukoro continues "Senator Omo Agege is the rehearsal of urhobo progress and if supported would position us in map of Nigeria politics in return we shall revive our glory and take our right pride of place"
Similarly, Dr. S.O odidi 1st Deputy President of the body has also appealed to the Senators of the 9th Assembly to vote for Ovie Omo Agege for the purpose of fairness and equity.
Odidi added that the South East of the country has held the office for 12yrs, and voting for Senator Omo Agege will give the South South people a sense of belonging.
He furthermore, said... Senator Omo Agege being an ex SSG to Delta state government has gained a lot of experience which makes him more qualified for the position, As a lawyer: the Senator has sponsored people oriented bills and Co- sponsored other numerous bills . If Loyalty pays then the senator who is a loyal party man is more fit for the office
The convener of the meeting comrade Umukoro used the opportunity to ask the Urhobo nation and South South people at large to continue to pray for the senator as he believes the Senator is just an apostle God wants to use in bringing Light to the region. He said the office of the DSP belongs to the Urhobo Nation, Deltans and South South in general because the Aspiration Of the senator cut across party line.
He thanked other leaders who attended the meeting for their solidarity and assumed them of the continue mutual respect and bond from the entire urhobo youths.
