SAPELE TRADER'S EXTOLS COUNCIL BOSS AS FISH TRADERS GETS NEW STORE ALLOCATION.

Hundreds of street traders on Saturday 6th, July 2019 moved into the Sapele Ultra Modern market to sell their wares as the committee in charge of the market allocated new stores to fish traders.

The Chairman of the market committee Mr Arimitan Goodluck who spoke to news men said that the decision to put a stop to street trading was prompted by the continuous trading on the market road which has hindered the growth and development of the market. Speaking accordingly, the chairman said that many shops owner went into street trading leaving their stores unused and others stores were kept under lock.Mr Goodluck Arimitan further said that the council boss Chief Eugene Okpeh Inoaghan immediately gave order that stringent steps be taken to ensure that the market is been utilised after given several months of notice to traders to use their stores. 

Again, he said that those with genuine reason as to why their stores were not been utilized before now would be taken into consideration. Mr Arimitan Goodluck reiterated that those store owners who have refused to use their stores,would have their stores forfeited and reallocated to new trader who were ready for business, as they have been given twenty-one days ultimatum to utilize it. 

The Chairman of the market committee further said that the shops were duly allocated to different areas of the market as each block were meant for a particular kind of goods. Mr Arimitan Goodluck thanked the traders for their cooperation in ensuring that the market is made into good use.

Mrs Silver Ochuko who responded swiftly thanked Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for commissioning the market and Hon.Chief Eugene Inoaghan for his effort in ensuring that the market is put into good use by the traders. She implored her fellow traders to cooperate with the market committee and adhere to the new rules guilding the market by shunning all forms of street trading.

Madam Esther Umukoro who also spoke to news men said that she was indeed impress with the committee's decision to put an end to street trading. She thanked Hon. Chief Eugene Okpeh Inoaghan for setting up a committee to handle the issue which has helped to achieve the desired result. 

Another trader by name Mrs Richard Ethie thanked the committee for working tirelessly to ensure that market is put to use. She further enjourn the market committee to look into the issue of the stores upstairs and ensure that it was also utilise.
