Between The APC and PDP Adamawa Supplementary Elections, Some Salient Issues:
This Masquerade dance between APC and PDP on one hand while the MRDD and INEC on the other hand is according the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Adamawa State Barr. Kashim Geidam, is presently before Legal Team of the Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters, for a watershade Legal Advice, as the election into the Governor of Adamawa State remains inconclusive.
Please, recall Bapetel Vs INEC where the Supreme Court upheld that, omission of a party's logo on the ballot paper is unacceptable and INEC was directed to cancel the election and was directed to add the party's logo (ACN) and conduct fresh election within a stipulated time. That was why Nyako's election was annuled and Bapetel's party Logo added and election into the office of the Governor of Adamawa State was freshly conducted in 2012.
It is indeed, preposterous when I see or hear the opposing camp (PDP) laugh and rejoicing? Have they forgotten so soon, the circumstances that twalted the Nyako election victory of 2011? Or do they lack legal luminaries to proffer cogent legal advise to them?
In any case, the over 40,0000 votes at stake has never given the APC a sleepless night. When the supplementary election is held on the scheduled date, the APC will definitely come out victorious and a declaration will be handled in favour of Governor Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of the APC. The 44 Polling Units spread across the 14 LGAs in Adamawa State where the APC and PDP will grapple for votes, has already been rescured and pinned down for capture. APC has overcome all laspes which advanced PDP to it's present gains. All those who stood from within to divide the house against itself, have come to terms with reality and understood the fact that, it's better to have our party in power than an alien. I can confidently assure the Good People of Adamawa State that, the victory of Governor Bindow for the next Four (4) years is indeed, not far from sight.
As a party and Government, we are above preparation should INEC insist on going on with the supplementary election on March 23, 2019, even when it will be presumed a fruitless exercise, when the issues of omission of MRDD logo on the ballot paper has not been expedicioudly resolved by INEC or the adjudicating body as earlier settled by the Supreme Court, but, except it will overule itself in this present case.
The MRDD's challenge of missing Logo on the Ballot Papers of March 9, 2019 ballot paper will still be an issue which the Laws of the Land must deal with to set records straight, wherefrom, Hon. Eric Theman has already highlighted, whereto, the Chairman of INEC Prof Yakub must make a definite pronouncement on the foregoing to either outrightly cancel the entire results or perpetually postpone the March 23 supplementary election until the court makes a declaratory pronouncement.
Umar Duhu (Dr) said therefore absolutely confident, Governor Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow stands tall and has all the chances of retaining the Dougirei Government House Stool until May 29, 2023.
